Sleep Requirements
These are suggested guidelines only. Every baby is different.
0 to 6 months
Newborn to 6 weeks
Awake for 1 hour. Asleep for 3 hours.
6 - 12 weeks
Awake for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Asleep for 2 1/2 - 3 hours.
12 - 18 weeks (3 - 4 months)
Awake for 2 hour. Asleep for 2 hours.
18 - 24 weeks (4 1/2 - 6 months)
Awake for 2 1/2 hours. Asleep for 2 hours.
6 - 12 months
24 - 32 weeks (6 months)
Awake for 3 hours x 3 times. Asleep for 1 1/2 - 2 hours AM. Asleep for 1 - 1 1/2 hours PM.
32 - 42 weeks (8 months)
Awake for 3 1/2 hours x 3 times. Asleep for 1 - 1 1/2 hours AM. Asleep for 1 hour PM
42 - 52 weeks (10 months)
Awake for 4 hours AM and PM. Asleep for 1 1/2 hours AM. Asleep for 1/2 - 1 hour PM.
56 weeks (12 months)
Usually only one sleep daily. Asleep for 2 - 2 1/2 hours after 11.30am lunch
1 - 3 years
15 - 18 months
Usually sleep for 2 hours after lunch.
2 years
Usually sleep for 1 - 2 hours after lunch.
3 years
Usually sleep for 1 - 2 hours after lunch.
